Welcome!
Welcome to Americans for Safe Access' (ASA) online community. ASA is the largest national member-based organization of patients, medical professionals, scientists and concerned citizens promoting safe and legal access to cannabis for therapeutic use and research. ASA works to overcome political and legal barriers by creating policies that improve access to medical cannabis for patients and researchers through legislation, education, litigation, grassroots actions, advocacy and services for patients and their providers. ASA has over 30,000 active members with chapters and affiliates in more than 40 states.
This website is here to provide information for patients and doctors about cannabis therapeutics, patients information about becoming a legal patient (if state law allows), information for attorneys who are representing patients and their providers, up-to-date legal, medical, and political information and acts a portal to connect you to advocacy projects at the federal, state and local levels.
The major obstacle between millions of patients in need and access to the medicine that can help them is federal policy based on politics and prejudice rather than logic and science. Caught in the middle are the people with legitimate medical needs who only ask for the best treatment and most efficacious medications available to treat their illnesses. Please help us break the federal grid lock and move forward as a nation by developing federal laws that allow therapeutic use and encourage research.
You can be a part of this mission-driven organization and know that you are helping advance medical cannabis therapeutics and research while protecting patients caught in the political crossfire. We will provide you with up-to-date political and legal information and ways you can plug into this movement. We offer resources and organizing opportunities for patients, medical professionals, scientists, and advocates.
Become a member of ASA or make a donation today and join the thousands of concerned citizens across the U.S. who are building the political network to achieve our goals.
